This Boudoir Wardrobe Piece Looks Good On Everyone

The most asked question from potential boudoir clients? What do I wear?

Many of our Muses aren’t lingerie people, they don’t have a drawer full of things and they are overwhelmed trying to figure out what looks good.

What if I told you there is one boudoir look that fits everyone and is super beautiful, elegant and sexy?

We all know that boudoir photos = lingerie. Or do we? I mean I love lingerie, it is super pretty and fun and can be beautiful to photograph.  But it can also be overwhelming. I know from personal experience as somewhere who wears bras and underwear and someone who photographs people in them.

Best Thing to Wear for Your Boudoir Session? Nothing.

Making this post for anyone stressing about wardrobe for their boudoir session or feeling overwhelmed about what kind of lingerie to wear.

Freaking out a little maybe because somewhere inside you know these images more about you than the clothes…. And it might be easier to fixate and focus on the underpants part than the showing up as your authentic self part.

That you need to have specific pieces or that you don’t have the right ones or even know what the right ones are.

Here’s the thing - you can just wear a sheet.

Sheets are classic, timeless elegant and fun and sexy!

They don’t pull or pinch or poke. And they fit over any body.

No outfit? No problem.

If you are someone who gets overloaded with the idea of what to wear to a boudoir photoshoot - I got you.  Let’s rethink what boudoir wardrobe needs to be. What if we stripped everything down and just got between the sheets. That’s it. A sheet.

It’s implied nudity - even though you don’t really have to be totally naked.

It’s true that some of our clients are the people who have lingerie drawers or costume closets (truth!).  But many of us just aren’t lingerie people, we might wear undergarments but are above all functional (and that is totally ok! I am one of those people and I’m a boudoir photographer) but flounder when thinking about what to pack for a boudoir session.

It can feel overwhelming trying to figure out what looks good, what pieces to find, how to figure out what fits and how it can all go together. If you are one of these people - hear me out. You can not bring anything to your boudoir session.

There is no nudity expected at your Modern Muse boudoir session - but if you want to slip into the sheets - we are here to capture you!

Wrapping It Up

Be sure to check out this gallery of white sheet sessions (and other colors too!) so you can see the full range of emotive boudoir portraits we can get without any wardrobe at all.

So what do you think? Still want to figure out lingerie? We can help you do that!  Or are you ready to not pack anything at all and just slip into the sheets?
