Last week I was in San Francisco for the week at Creative Live for Social Media Week 18.? It was a wonderful week learning from 9 social experts across the six biggest platforms for creatives.? Sue B Zimmerman (Boston neighbor, friend, and mentor) and Morgan Sutton led the way with using Instagram for business.? I knew I probably shouldn’t have let the babe take over my account – that is what IG stories are for!
I’ve been on IG for a while – and have found myself creeping into the confusing and crummy spiral of appreciating fitness images and also feeling terrible and less motivated about keeping my own body in strength and conditioning.? This year,??I’ve found a few body-positive fitness Instagram accounts to follow (like this one and this one).? But even better than scrolling on a phone is meeting and photographing local women who are inspirational and amazing.
And this is one of those inspirational and inspiring women – Nat F.? We met through Omar, whose IG account is here. He told me that many of the people he’s worked with have been through a significant transformation and that yet might still struggle to see themselves as an athlete and their own internal and external transformations.
We began the portrait session with a mix of athletic gear.? And then, Nat pulls out this stunning purple dress.? Body con!? With slits!!? She wore it with as much confidence and ownership as she does he boxing gloves.
I’m so glad to have had a chance to get to know and photograph this warm, striking and lovely woman!
