Styling Your Bridal Boudoir Session
Your wedding is likely a reflection and celebration of you as a couple. ?A bridal boudoir shoot can reflect and celebrate you as an individual. ?Once you decide to take the plunge and book your bridal boudoir session, the next step is figuring out what to bring. ?Boudoir isn?t about skin. ?It?s about you. Whether you are leaning toward casual and cozy or sensual and seductive – here are 4 tips for what to wear at your bridal boudoir shoot.
1. Choose a Color Theme
When we hear the word bridal, we think white. Of course, not all brides wear white. ??Whatever you are planning to wear for your wedding when you are planning what to wear for your bridal boudoir session, begin with choosing a color palette. ?This could be whites, ivories, blushes, pinks. ?Or blues. Or greens. ?Or black lace. ?Or you could keep things neutral. ?This part is up to you. ?Choose a color palette that works for your complexion.
2. Accessorize
While you are planning and packing, Don?t forget jewelry for glamour and drama. ?Bring your wedding accessories: your wedding veil, headpieces, jewelry you?re planning to wear with your wedding gown. ?Statement necklaces can look amazing with a deep neckline and long necklaces and chandelier earrings give your hands something to linger on while we shoot. ?
3. Bring Something of Your Partner?s
Think beyond the classic button-down (though it?s a classic for a reason!). ?A T-Shirt, favorite team jersey, a hoodie, a hat – something is is recognizably your partners. ?These are great for anyone, from modest to exhibitionist.
4. An Unexpected Piece
Take a tour of the back of your closet or drawers. ?That silk dress, lace top, super cozy sweater, fuzzy vest – anything that might be unexpected and fun to pair with something in a daring boudoir context.? Or consider buying something new that speaks to this brave moment in your life as you step into this new chapter. ?
One of my go-to online places to search for lingerie is The Lingerie Addict. ?If you are in the Boston area, I highly recommend checking out Forty Winks in Harvard Square. ?
Remember
- Wear what you feel beautiful in. ?
- Choose a wardrobe that highlights and reveals your favorite parts of you.?
- You are doing this to celebrate who you are – let’s not try to what you guess your partner wants to see – your fiance loves you as you are.? That’s what we want to focus on.?
