I’m so excited today to share a recent plus-size wedding boudoir photography session. This woman was definitely one of my recent favorite muses.
As with all boudoir sessions, and any portrait session, I like to begin with learning about why the client has come for a portrait. We either speak by phone or video chat and then I send some follow-up questions. ?I want us to be on the same page, and I’ll be able to get a clear understanding of who you are, how you want to be photographed, and what your plan for the images is.
She said:
I was inspired to book a boudoir session for many reasons. First and foremost, I want to celebrate me! When you feel great about yourself, you’re able to put forth the best foot in your relationship. I am also marrying the love of my life come April and he is one of my biggest supports and admirer of my body. I am a plus-size woman and embrace all things curvy about me. I want to have fun and enjoy myself while creating a lasting memory for my fianc?. I know he will look at these pictures in years to come and think of our love story.?
I’m thrilled when a client embraces their body. ?So many people avoid the camera because they feel they are overweight. ? As you can see here, you don?t need to have an idealized figure to look amazing.?? It?s my job to use the right posing, lighting and lens choices to make you look amazing. ?It?s your job to bring your self-confidence – full force.
WARDROBE FOR BRIDAL BOUDOIR
The client brought in some beautiful choices for a bridal boudoir session. She kept the color palette simple: ivory, cream, light pink, black.
She nailed it with great lingerie options for plus size women; high waisted panties, long line bras, white lace bed jacket, flowing skirt – and she slithered into the studio’s vintage tuxedo jacket – producing one of my favorite images from the shoot.
I wanted to share a few anonymous pages from her session. ? As you can see, she rocked her session.
What she had to say:
I liked Allana immediately! Her personality was comforting and I felt at ease face timing with her! I’m big on people, and Allana had a great vibe about her. Along with that, I was drawn to how modern glamour celebrates all women. It’s about embracing and loving yourself and expressing that in these pictures for yourself or loved ones.
